These two photos span a generation and capture my relationship with my dad. In the first, he is comforting me while listening to the radio. I don't know what the score was, but I am sure he was listening to the voice of Mel Allen.

The second photo was taken during his last years while on vacation in Florida. Here he smiles with "Sweet Lou" Manzo, his namesake, who is wearing a Yankee Hat.

I save everything, just ask my wife. Below are ticket stubs from my first game with my dad in 1961 and my last game with him - Spring Training 1986.

Link to Boxscore - July 5, 1961

Dad took me to Game 5 in the 1962, Game 1 in the 1963 and Game 5 in the 1964 World Series. Jack Thomas' obit captured that magic day in 1962. In 1963 we saw Koufax strike out 15 Yankees and in 1964 we saw McCarver's 10th inning home run. In my section on baseball books, I recommend the book on Koufax. I had the chance to meet him one Spring Training when I was speaking with Dave Wallace. Regarding McCarver, I don't think I ever got over that HR. Tom Tresh had just tied game 5 in the bottom of the 9th with a two run HR. McCarver hit a three run HR in the top of the 10th. Is that the reason I can't listen to him on TV?
